About

Discover the Power of Transformation

Welcome to Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) – a transformative journey in professional theological education tailored for clergy, seminary scholars, and dedicated lay individuals. Within this immersive learning experience, participants engage in a dynamic reflection-in-action process, honing their skills in the sacred art of pastoral care. CPE challenges students to enhance the quality and impact of their pastoral relationships through deep engagement with individuals in moments of crisis, fellow CPE peers, seasoned supervisors, and other experts.

Rooted in the visionary ideas of Dr. Richard Cabot and expanded upon by Reverend Anton Boisen, CPE’s core includes a case study approach to theological exploration — a method that delves into the “living human document.” Over the years, CPE leaders have broadened the program to encompass a holistic understanding of medicine, psychology, and behavioral sciences as integral components of pastoral practice. Today, our esteemed CPE supervisors underscore the importance of crafting pastoral relationships that seamlessly blend personal histories, behavioral theory, method, and spiritual growth.

Embrace this transformative journey with us and discover the depth of pastoral care that resonates within your spirit. Welcome to CPE!
