Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) offers an immersive experience for clergy, seminary scholars, and dedicated lay individuals, emphasizing dynamic reflection-in-action and engagement with individuals in crisis. Rooted in foundational principles of pastoral care, CPE integrates insights from psychology and behavioral sciences, fostering meaningful relationships and spiritual growth.
Resilience Mentoring Certification Program equips participants with practical tools to cultivate resilience in themselves and others, enhancing their capacity to support communities during challenging times. Together, these programs empower leaders to make a lasting impact through compassionate care and mentorship.
Meet the Founder
Dr. Geofrey Tio is a visionary leader and founding member of Community Care Chaplains (established in 2009). With two decades of experience in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), he excels in clinical supervision, training, and management of chaplains. Dr. Tio is certified as a Clinical Chaplain and recognized as a Diplomate in Clinical Pastoral Supervision by the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy.
He holds a D.Min. degree from New York Theological Seminary and training from the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, where he refined his expertise. Dr. Tio’s commitment extends to healthcare institutions and community outreach, coaching a diverse range of individuals toward effective leadership.
As an ordained minister through the Seventh-day Adventist Church, he directs Mission and Spiritual Care at Adventist Health hospitals in Mendocino County, CA. His career includes roles as a CPE Program Director and Director of Pastoral Care at Peninsula Medical Center in Maryland, alongside his earlier ministry as a pastor and Bible teacher.
In addition to his contributions to pastoral care, Dr. Tio has recently published a book titled Unshakeable: Cultivating Resilience in Challenging Times, furthering his mission to enrich lives. Hailing from the Philippines, he holds a Master’s degree in Development Communication and Bachelor’s degrees in Theology and History and Philosophy of Religion.
Dr. Tio, alongside his supportive wife, is a proud parent of three children. His remarkable contributions and unwavering dedication make him an invaluable asset to CCC and the broader community.
