Brokenness often feels final. When we are cracked by loss, wounded by betrayal, or weakened by suffering, it can seem as though our story has ended in fragments. But God never sees the end in what we call broken—He sees the beginning of restoration.
Peter reminds us:
“The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” (1 Peter 5:10)
Like the art of Kintsugi, where shattered pottery is mended with gold, God does not erase the scars of our pain but honors them. The very lines of breakage become the places where His glory shines most clearly. What once marked weakness becomes testimony of His strength.
Suffering is never wasted in God’s hands. In time, the cracks are filled—not with shame or denial—but with grace that strengthens, steadies, and renews. And just as the repaired vessel shines with new radiance, so too do our lives reflect His power and love after the breaking.
Prayer:
Lord, take the broken pieces of our lives and mend them with Your grace. Where we have felt weak, restore us with Your strength. Make us steadfast, that our scars may shine with the beauty of Your redeeming love. Amen.
