Broken by Life, Held by Grace

Life is not always gentle. The vessel that was once whole and beautifully formed is sometimes subjected to forces beyond its control. External pressures, harsh circumstances, and the weight of the world can cause the jar to crack or break. The carefully molded shape may fracture, the surface may become marred, and the vessel that was once perfect now shows signs of struggle.

Sometimes, it is disappointment, loss, or failure that shatters us. The words of others, the trials we face, or even our own internal battles can bring us to the breaking point. Like the jar that falls to the ground, we too can feel shattered by life’s weight.

Yet, even in brokenness, the story is not over. The Divine Potter does not discard what is damaged. Instead, He gathers the shattered pieces, seeing not destruction but the potential for restoration. Life’s challenges may break us, but they do not define us. Instead, they become the very places where transformation begins—where we allow the Potter to reshape us, heal us, and fill us with grace.

Psalm 147:3 declares: “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Even when we feel broken, God’s grace sustains us. In His hands, we are not discarded—we are remade into something even more beautiful.
