Mended in the Quiet: Where God Draws Near

There are moments when life breaks quietly. Not with noise or dramatic collapse—but with silent ache, invisible wounds, and unspoken sorrow. We carry pieces no one sees and fractures we’re afraid to name.

But God sees.

In the art of Kintsugi, the broken ceramic isn’t tossed aside. It’s gently held, tenderly mended, and filled with gold. Not to hide the damage, but to make it part of the beauty. So it is with us.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” —Psalm 34:18

This is the promise we cling to: that our brokenness is not abandoned—it’s where God draws closest. Not only to comfort, but to restore. Not only to heal, but to transform.

In your most tender places, where you feel shattered or unseen, know this: you are being held by the One who stays. The gold is coming. And the cracks? They will soon tell a sacred story.

Prayer:
God, when my spirit feels crushed and I have no words for the ache, thank You for drawing near. Let Your nearness be the beginning of my healing. Mend me with grace and teach me to see beauty where I once saw only loss. Amen.
